Join the Missio family!

We rely on our amazing volunteers to further our mission. We couldn’t do what we do without people like you.

Our volunteers bring the Missio family together, sharing the work of missionaries overseas, encouraging people to pray and fundraise, collecting Red Boxes and delivering our Mission Today magazine, or helping to build our online community.

If you have a heart for mission, a bit of energy, and a few hours a week to spare, we’d love to hear from you!

Fired up but don't know where to start?

Don’t worry.  We’ll give you all the training you need before you start, and keep supporting you throughout your volunteering journey. After all, when you join our team of volunteers, you become part of the worldwide Missio family – and that’s what families do!

Help us ignite God's love

There are lots of different ways to become involved as a volunteer, and you can choose depending on how much time you have and what your calling is. At every level, we will always support and guide you, and be there to answer any questions.

Recruit volunteers in your parish

If you are a Parish Priest, you may wish to recruit a dedicated Local Secretary in your parish.

About Missio, Mill Hill and the APF

You may be more familiar with the names ‘Mill Hill’ and ‘APF’ than the name ‘Missio’, although if you have a Red Box you’ll know our logo. Here’s how it works:

Missio is the Pope’s charity for world mission. There are around 120 Missio offices throughout the world. We ignite God’s love by helping local missionaries to work alongside global communities that are poor or in need, regardless of their background or belief.

‘APF’ stands for the ‘Association for the Propagation of the Faith‘. It provides missionaries with the spiritual and material support they need to enable local people to build and sustain their own faith communities. The name ‘APF’ is used less frequently these days, but we haven’t changed the vital work we do.

In England and Wales, the Red Box is one of the ways we collect funds to help missionaries, and is also a reminder to keep them in prayer.

The Mill Hill Missionaries are an international fellowship of missionaries founded in England. Missio is partnered with the Mill Hill Missionaries in England and Wales to support and further mission around the world, and Mill Hill is guaranteed a percentage of what we collect through the Red Box.
