In south Tel Aviv, there is a system of 'childcare' that has claimed the lives of eight innocent children in little over a year - the 'baby warehouse'.
In small apartments, up to 30 children of poor immigrant workers are cared for by just one, unqualified and often inexperienced carer. Little wonder tragedies happen - often from simple, avoidable causes. For instance, one poor child choked on her feeder bottle, unseen, unsupervised.
With proper childcare costing almost as much as the poverty wage of many refugees, imagine having to make the stark choice: use a baby warehouse, work and eat. Or look after your children yourself and starve on the streets.
This was the shocking situation local priest Father David Neuhaus knew must change. He realised setting up decent, affordable pre-school care would save lives.
Today, Sister Dinesha oversees the running of four crèches in the Our Lady Woman of Valour Pastoral Centre and local apartments, but more space and more carers are desperately needed.
Can you help Sister Dinesha save lives in Tel Aviv?
As Sr Dinesha tells us, her responsibility to these children is simple: 'To provide love, care and the security they need.'
Your prayers and donations will help provide vital care to refugee and immigrant families, many of whom have fled war, conflict and persecution. By establishing more crèches in some of the poorest areas of south Tel Aviv, Sr Dinesha will continue to reach out with God's love to ensure children are safe and well cared for.
