The Society of St Peter the Apostle is the Church's official fundraising
body for the training of clergy and religious in mission countries.
The SPA is the only organisation which supports each and every
seminarian and novice in formation in mission dioceses worldwide. This
means that the SPA currently supports the training of 31,000 seminarians
and 11,000 novices.
Helping the Church
Sisters of St Joseph of Tarbes |
Through prayer and finance SPA supporters provide these younger churches
with the essential help they need to train their own priests, sisters
and brothers.
Building the Church of tomorrow
Without your help, mission dioceses would find it difficult to fund the training of the priests they so urgently need.
Fr Eric Omondi |
Even one new priest can make a difference to the lives of several
thousand Catholics in remote areas where they might only have Mass three
or four times in a single year.
The priest works today to build the Church of tomorrow.

Any amount that you can give will make a big difference.
All seminaries contribute towards the cost of training and upkeep of their students. However, many countries are simply not able to meet these costs by themselves. SPA helps them to meet those costs and to ensure that good vocations are not turned away as a result of lack of funds.
£500 a year for four years will help a student studying for the priesthood through the final four years of formation and enable the seminary to pay his board and lodging
£250 will contribute to the formation of novices who will bring the love and light of Christ to those living in poverty and isolation
£100 will buy essentials books for two students in Zimbabwe or feed a seminarian in Nigeria for 6 months
£50 will paint and furnish a dormitory block in Malawi
