BANGKOK, Vietnam - The head of Vietnam's Catholic bishops says the Church is continuing to urge the government to return a former Jesuit-run seminary that authorities confiscated in 1980.
The local Church needs the Pius X Pontifical Institute Seminary in Da Lat city for the training of priests, says Bishop Pierre Nguyen Van Nhon of Da Lat, head of the Vietnam Bishops' Conference.
The seminary is one of three Church facilities the bishops have asked the government to return in recent years.
The two others are the national Shrine of Our Lady of La Vang in central Hue archdiocese and the former apostolic nunciature building near the Hanoi archbishop's house.
