Mission Tomorrow 2010
January 12th, 2011

Dear friends and supporters,
Thank you for all your support for the Society of St Peter the Apostle. SPA is one of the great treasures of the Church. For over 120 years it has quietly fulfilled its charism of training local priests in the mission territories of the Church, helping it to grow strong in faith and outreach to the poor.

It has done this though some very traumatic times and many Christians have had to pay the price of great suffering.

SPA has guaranteed that the faithful have not lacked leadership and companionship during these times. Priests and Sisters, trained and formed through SPA, have been at the forefront of resistance to oppression and of negotiating for peace, care of the sick and dying, and of strengthening communities in their capacity to be self-reliant and confident in their faith.

The impact of your support in countries like Cambodia and Sri Lanka is immense but, as Patrick testifies, the process is two-way. I’m sure you agree that you receive far more than you give. Why? Because the Lord cannot be outdone in generosity!

We are grateful for your continuing support.

In missionary unity
Thank you
