Ecuador is one of the smallest countries in South America. Its capital is Quito and the official language is Spanish. In fact, ECUADOR is Spanish for equator.
The Mission Together Newsletter this year focuses on the River Challenge in Ecuador it is based around 2 key areas:
EDUCATION
- gives children the ability to understand what is happening
- helps children to understand that the world is a gift from God
- this in turn leads them to protect their environment
- stops families moving to the city where they will live in poverty
- keeps families together
STEWARDSHIP BASED ON FAITH
- our aim is to help the children in Ecuador look after creation
- we do it because creation is God's gift to all
This challenge is proactive – we are helping children build a better future for themselves rather than simply supporting them when things go wrong.
